After their visits here, the lovely people at GB Row Challenge were keen to showcase the Wester Ross Marine Protected Area at their Sea Changes event, so Noel and Janis headed down to speak about the story of the MPA and all the great work the kids have been doing to protect and promote it.
Last Friday we managed to fit in an access trips thanks to help from Lochbroom House and Tash, we got Neil out for a trio round the Loch and lifting a creel.
Calm, long midsummer evenings make for perfect conditions to get out and survey for White tailed sea eagles out in the bay, and also to pull collections of marine plastic from spots where they tend to gather.
Whilst learning about herring recently, and how important they were to Ullapool historically (it's why the village is here!), we also discovered quite a few of the Sea Savers hadn't had the chance to try them themselves as it can be hard to get them locally these days, sadly.
Back at the factfiles this week - some brilliant new species champions in the making!
